Alexander Zverev is getting ready for the 30th edition of the Terra Wortmann Open. The World No. 23 arrived in Halle, Westphalia on Thursday and is looking forward to the tournament.

“I’m happy with my form. I’m playing well, everything is totally okay,” Zverev said in a press briefing ahead of the first rallies of the ATP 500 grass-court tournament. “I’m now back in a position where I come to a tournament and say I can and I want to win it.”

Zverev, who was forced to pull out from this week’s Boss Open in Stuttgart due to a minor physical issue, was scheduled take on Spanish veteran Roberto Bautista Agut in his opening match. However, after the withdrawal of Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, the new No. 8 seed will now face Austrian wild card entry Dominic Thiem in the first round. “It won’t be easy for me. But I am optimistic and want to stay here for a long time,” Zverev said.

In addition to the practice sessions on the grass courts, the 26-year-old Hamburg native also finds time to switch off, time to relax – also on the green, playing golf. Accompanied by girlfriend Sophia Thomalla, Zverev teed off from time to time at the nearby Teutoburger Wald Golf Club in the run-up to the anniversary edition of the Terra Wortmann Open. Zverev is also considered a top golf player, just short of a single-digit handicap.
