Alejandro Tabilo from Chile wins the title of the XIX Challenger Ciudad de Guayaquil Copa Banco Guayaquil. The No. 5 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 75 clay-court event in Ecuador beat wild card entry and second-seeded Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 6-2, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Tabilo was in total control of the championship match, sent down seven aces and capitalized on five of his six break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 26 minutes.

“I’m happy because it was a very tough week, many battles with very good players. I’ve known Galan for a long time, we’ve played several matches, and hopefully, we can continue battling with him. I’m very happy with the victory; my team is also very excited, and hopefully, I can continue with this level,” said Tabilo.
“I dedicate this title to my entire team, my girlfriend who came to support me, all the friends in Chile, and my entire family.”
Tabilo earned his fourth career title on the ATP Challenger Tour, his third of the season following his triumphs in Francavilla, Italy and Karlsruhe, Germany. The World No. 125 collected $10,840 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
