The 37-year-old Spaniard lost in the opening round of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 clay-court tournament, being held at the Club de Tenis Valencia this week, 6-3, 6-2 against his 17-year-old compatriot and fellow wild card entry Martin Landaluce.

Settled in Valencia since childhood, Andujar earned his first ATP Tour points at the Elche Futures in 2004. Then, in 2007, at 21 years old, he secured the first ATP Tour victory of his career in Valencia against Simon Greul of Germany, winning 6-2, 6-4.
“I want to play my last match at the ATP Challenger in Valencia. That will be the real goodbye,” Andujar said after competing in his last match at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell in April.
In 2015, the Cuenca native reached a career-high ranking of World No. 32. Andujar won over 160 matches, lifting four ATP Tour trophies and 11 on the Challenger Circuit. Now, as his twenty-year professional career culminates and while being one of four player representatives of the ATP board, Andujar has decided to bid farewell to tennis in front of his family and friends.
