Two qualifiers advanced to the quarterfinals of the Savannah Challenger. Andres Andrade of Ecuador defeated US-American Mitchell Krueger 6-3, 7-6(3) on Thursday at $82,000 clay-court event hosted by The Landings Golf and Athletic Club in Savannah, Georgia.
The 475th-ranked Andrade converted four of his 11 break-point opportunities and won 56 per cent of the total points played to succeed in one hour and 50 minutes.

Andrade has reached the stage of the final eight on the ATP Challenger Tour for the first time, taking on Argentine qualifier Federico Agustin Gomez. The World No. 326 edged out US-American alternate Aidan Mayo 6-3, 7-6(5). Agustin Gomez broke his rival three times and won two points more than his opponent to seal victory in one hour and 45 minutes.
In other action, Alexander Ritschard eased past Omar Jasika of Australia 6-1, 6-1. The No. 5 seed from Switzerland needed 67 minutes to reach the stage of the final eight. Up next for Ritschard will be Frenchman Calvin Hemery, who beat Junior World No. 1 Joel Schwaerzler from Austria 6-4, 6-2. The encounter lasted one hour and 18 minutes.
