Britain’s Billy Harris came from a break down in the final set to seal a thrilling win against Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin in Friday’s quarterfinals at the Lexus Surbiton Trophy.
The 29-year-old wild card entry fired 12 aces and won 75 per cent of his first-service points to prevail 5-7, 7-6(5), 7-6(4) after three hours and 14 minutes.

Harris, who loves playing golf and also enjoys watching his local team Nottingham Forrest play, will next play South Africa’s Lloyd Harris in the semi-finals, with Brandon Nakashima from the United States and Switzerland’s Leandro Riedi in the other last four clash at the ATP Challenger Tour 125 grass-court event.
In the women’s draw of the ITF World Tennis Tour tournament Britain’s Emily Appleton lost 6-4, 6-3 against 2022 Lexus Surbiton Trophy champion Alison Van Uytvanck.
Women’s semi-final line-up is complete, with Belgium’s Van Uytvanck facing France’s Harmony Tan and Australia’s Olivia Gadecki set to face Germany’s Tatjana Maria.
