Lloyd Harris has clinched the Lexus Surbiton Trophy ATP Challenger Tour 125 event, the first on grass this season. The 27-year-old South African beat Switzerland’s Leandro Riedi 7-6(8), 7-5 in Sunday’s singles final.
Harris fired 17 aces and won 85 per cent of his first-service points to prevail after one hour and 44 minutes.

The World No. 132 has now won 16 of his last 17 matches on the ATP Challenger Tour and this was his third title of 2024. Harris earned €20,300 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
Van Uytvanck wins women’s event
On the women’s side, Alison Van Uytvanck claimed her fourth career grass-court title after beating second seed Tatjana Maria of Germany 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-2 in two hours in the final of the ITF World Tennis Tour W100 event.
After a strong start from Maria, the Belgian shifted through the gears in the second and third sets with an array of intelligent shot-making both from baseline and coming into the net.
The former World No. 37 broke five times throughout the match to beat the former Wimbledon semi-finalist for a fourth time in her career.
The Surbiton Trophy combined event was held at the Surbiton Racket and Fitness Club. Surbiton is a charming suburban area in southwest London, located within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
