Emma Raducanu won an epic 82-minute first set against Katie Boulter, saving three set points in the tie-break before clinching it on her sixth set point to win 15-13. As the court was deemed to be too wet to continue, the all-British semi-final at the Rothesay Nottingham Open will resume on Sunday.

Earlier, Britain’s Fran Jones was forced to withdraw from her quarterfinal against Raducanu due to a shoulder injury. Former Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova from the Czech Republic beat top seed Ons Jabeur of Tunisia 7-6(8), 6-7(3), 7-5 to advance to the last four of the WTA 250 grass-court event. Pliskova’s semi-final against France’s Diane Parry will be played on Sunday.

Fearnley advances to first Challenger semi-final

In the ATP Challenger Tour 125 event, Britain’s Jacob Fearnley has reached his first semi-final after a 7-5, 7-5 win against China’s World No. 96 and No. 3 seed Juncheng Shang of China. It was Fearnley’s first win against an opponent ranked inside the top 100.

No.2 seed Dan Evans lost his quarterfinal against fellow Brit Charles Broom 3-6, 6-3- 6-2 in a match played on an indoor court. Billy Harris will play Broom in an all-British semi-final after his opponent Mikhail Kukushkin from Kazakhstan withdrew from the tournament due to a hamstring injury.
