“It was an incredible week for me in Zug. I want to thank the tournament organizers and everyone who made the Zug Open possible. It takes a lot to set up such a tournament,” Kym said after the final.
“A big thank you also to my coach Markus, who has been by my side for four years. You have always believed in me and never let me down, even when it wasn’t easy.
“The fans have created a great atmosphere this week, especially today. When you play a tournament in Switzerland, go far, or like me today, reach a final, it always feels like a Davis Cup atmosphere. This motivates me even more, helps me feel comfortable on the court, and allows me to play my best tennis.”
By winning his second ATP Challenger Tour career title following his triumph at the Czech Open in Prostejov in early June, the World No. 278 pocketed €20,300 in prize money as well as 125 ATP Ranking points.
