LÜDENSCHEID/STARNBERG, August 3, 2024
Botic van de Zandschulp and Raphael Collignon will compete for the title of the fourth edition of the Platzmann Open ATP Challenger Tour event in Lüdenscheid, Germany.
Collignon’s semifinal opponent had yet to be determined in the morning. Due to heavy rain on Thursday, the quarterfinal match between Kamil Majchrzak and Roman Andres Burruchaga could not be completed. Thus, their match opened Friday’s play, with the Polish securing victory.
However, Majchrzak couldn’t maintain his morning performance in the evening semifinal against Collignon. The 28-year-old was defeated by the Belgian 6-1, 6-3 in just 71 minutes to reach his second ATP Challenger career final.

Top seed van de Zandschulp advanced after his opponent, Titouan Droguet of France, retired early due to a thigh injury after just four service games.
In doubles action, the Dutch pair David Pel and Bart Stevens triumphed in a match tiebreak against Zvonimir Babic and Aleksander Donski. They will face the tournament’s second-seeded team, Matwe Middelkoop and Denys Molchanov, in the final.
