Ignacio Arias Carrera, a young graphic designer from Oviedo, earned top honors with his Final Degree Project (TFG) in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Valladolid. His work focused on redesigning the brand image, specifically the logo of the Torneo BDO Tenis Playa Luanco. Arias’ project creatively combined his two passions—graphic design and tennis—and aimed to modernize the image of this well-known beach tennis tournament held at La Ribera Beach in Asturias.

Inspired by prestigious tennis tournaments like Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Arias initially considered a classic circular logo style. However, he decided to innovate and present a more contemporary design that stands out from other events. The new logo reflects the essence and uniqueness of the Luanco Tournament, emphasizing its coastal setting. Arias incorporated elements that symbolize the villa of Luanco, the shape of La Ribera beach, the iconic Clock Tower bell, and references to Asturias.

The project not only earned him the highest academic recognition from the University of Valladolid, but also garnered praise from the Tennis Club Luanco and the tournament’s organizing committee. They appreciated the thoughtful and creative tribute to an event that has been part of the Asturian landscape.
