Frenchman Valentin Royer continued his dominance in Kigali, claiming back-to-back Rwanda Challenger titles. His impressive run on the clay courts of the PRC Kicukiro Ecology Tennis Club highlights his consistency and resilience, marking a significant milestone in his career. Royer defeated Dutch alternate Guy den Ouden 6-2, 6-4 in Sunday’s singles final.
The No. 4 seed of the ATP Challenger Tour 100 tournament withstood eight aces and broke his rival three times. Royer won 57 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 21 minutes.

Following his triumph at last week’s Rwanda Challenger 75 event and his maiden title win at the Sibiu Open in Romania last year, Royer lifted his third career trophy on the Challenger Circuit. The 23-year-old Nueilly-sur-Seine native collected $22,730 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
