The first of 18 ITF World Tennis Tour tournaments in Slovenia concluded Sunday in Maribor, where Croatian Antonia Ruzic (WTA No. 132) triumphed at the iVent Branik Maribor Open 2025. In a thrilling final, the 22-year-old from Cakovec defeated Poland’s Linda Klimovicova (WTA No. 204) in three sets, winning 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.

No. 2 seed Ruzic started strong, comfortably taking the first set, but Klimovicova fought back to level the match. The decisive third set saw Ruzic regain control, securing victory in two hours and 12 minutes. By lifting her 12th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, her second at a W75 event this season after Trnava in Slovakia in early March, she is projected to rise to a new career-high ranking of around World No. 115 when the WTA rankings are next published on Monday 31 March
