STARNBERG, April 13, 2025

Great Britain, Spain and Ukraine all confirmed their places at the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals after securing first place in their Qualifiers groups on Saturday. Great Britain won a decisive doubles match against Netherlands in The Hague to top Group F.

“For me it was just the energy, from this team, the crowd, my partner, my captain. We went out there and gave it our all, we swung and that’s what we went out to do,” said Jodie Burrage after her doubles victory alongside Katie Boulter.

Meanwhile, Spain overcame Czechia in Group B and Ukraine defeated Switzerland in Group E.

“It was my first time playing Billie Jean King Cup – I was in Malaga, but I wasn’t playing – so I think this was a good experience for me, “ Spain’s Jessica Bouzas Maneiro said after her victory over Linda Noskova. “Super happy to give my team the points and get this win. Of course, It was a tough match, Linda is at home here, she’s an amazing player and I’ve known her for a long time. I think that my emotions were good, I played well and I put a lot of energy into every moment on court.”

Earlier in the day, Australia managed a consolation win against Colombia as Group D concluded in Brisbane, while the stage is set for winner-takes-all shoot-outs between Canada and Japan in Group A in Tokyo and Slovakia and USA in Group C in Bratislava on Sunday.

At regional-group level, Argentina, Croatia, India, Mexico, New Zealand and Portugal all secured promotion from Group I (joining Belgium and Turkiye, who did so on Friday) and will compete in the Play-offs in November.
