Singles second-round action took center stage on day four of the Morelos Open Metaxchange 2026, with defending champion Marc-Andrea Huesler and Michael Mmoh leading the field into the quarterfinals, while Mexico’s Rodrigo Pacheco Mendez continued his strong run on home soil.

Fifth seed and reigning champion Huesler delivered a composed performance to defeat Mexico’s Alex Hernandez 6-3, 6-2, maintaining his title defense on track. The world No. 217 from Switzerland fired 11 aces and won 85 per cent of his first-service points to advance in only 56 minutes.

Huesler will next take on Tyler Zink from the United States, who secured his place in the next round after edging Colombian qualifier Miguel Tobon in one of the most competitive matches of the day, 7-6(5), 4-6, 6-3 in one hour and 50 minutes.

US-American Mmoh also advanced with authority, overcoming his compatriot and seventh seed Stefan Kozlov 7-5, 6-2. The 28-year-old capitalized on six of his seven break-point opportunities and won 58 per cent of the total points played to prevail after one hour and 55 minutes.

Up next for Mmoh will be Pacheco Mendez. The home favorite controlled his match against Aryan Ahah from the outset. He took the opening set 6-1 before the Indian was forced to retire due to injury early in the second set, sending Pacheco Mendez into the quarterfinals.
