Michael Mmoh captured the Morelos Open Metaxchange 2026 title with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory over Taro Daniel in Sunday’s singles final at Estadio Morelos.

In the pair’s first meeting, Daniel came out strong, taking the opening set with solid baseline play, but the match shifted after a rain delay of approximately 90 minutes. Following the interruption, Mmoh returned with renewed energy and took control of the contest. Playing more aggressively and handling the key moments better, the US-American turned the match around, leveling the score in the second set before closing it out after two hours and 27 minutes.

The final lived up to expectations, featuring two players who have both been ranked inside the Top 100, reflected in the level and intensity throughout the match. Mmoh captured his eighth ATP Challenger Tour career title, his first since October 2022 in Fairfield, Connecticut, and first outside the United States.

“Honestly, even though it’s my eighth Challenger title, I would put it at the top. Once the rain delay happened, I was able to reset mentally and I’d say this Challenger win is the most special,” said the world No. 351, who is on the comeback trail after injury-riddled seasons.

Mmoh earned in Mexico $17,000 in prize money as well as 75 ATP Ranking points.
