CAMPINAS, STARNBERG, April 12, 2026

The Copa Internacional de Tenis ATP Challenger 75 event in Campinas, the longest-running event of its kind in Brazil, crowned its 2026 champion on Sunday. In front of a packed Centre Court and under scorching sunshine, home favourite Gustavo Heide lifted the trophy after defeating top seed Gonzalo Bueno of Peru 6-2, 7-5 to secure the third Challenger title of his career.

With the victory, Heide earns 75 ATP Ranking points and $17,000 in prize money, while runner-up Bueno takes home $9,600 and 44 points. The result propels the Brazilian to around world No. 210, overtaking Joao Reis to become the country’s second-highest ranked player on the ATP Tour.

A former world No. 147, Heide’s journey back to the top has not been easy. After undergoing surgery, he was sidelined for seven months in 2025. He began his comeback late last year and arrived in Campinas ready to rebuild his ranking and confidence. Competing in front of family and friends, he made the most of the moment and now heads to Europe with his sights set on qualifying for Roland Garros.

“It feels very special to win here, where I played my first Challenger, and now to take the title in front of my family, my friends and all these fans,” Heide said. “I’m very happy. I had a small dip during the match, but that’s part of the game and I managed to recover. Now I will rest for a week and then head to Europe, hoping for a great season.”

The traditional Campinas event, now in its 16th edition, once again confirmed its importance on the international calendar, drawing strong crowds throughout the week and culminating in a sold-out final. Heide becomes only the third Brazilian to win the title, following Guilherme Clezar (2013) and Thiago Monteiro (2023).
