Alexander Zverev will return to the BOSS OPEN in Stuttgart from June 6–14, 2026, after confirming his participation in a video message shared on the tournament’s official Instagram account. The world No. 3 enjoyed a standout run at last year’s edition, delighting German fans as he advanced to the final without dropping a set before falling to Taylor Fritz in a high-quality championship match.

Zverev’s runner-up finish marked his first grass-court final in eight years, and he left Stuttgart with fond memories. “It was a beautiful week. I hope to be back next year,” he said at the time—a promise he has now fulfilled. In his announcement, the German expressed his excitement about returning: “I’m really looking forward to being back in Stuttgart for the BOSS OPEN. I can’t wait to see the fans and experience the atmosphere again on Centre Court.”

Last year’s final also produced a light-hearted moment during the trophy ceremony, when Zverev jokingly told Fritz: “Taylor, I’ve had enough of you. I don’t want to see you in Germany for the next two or three years.” He quickly added with a smile: “No, seriously—you deserved the title.”

Fritz, however, will be back to defend his crown in 2026, setting up the possibility of another thrilling encounter. Together with Zverev, the American headlines a strong field that already includes fellow Top 20 players Tommy Paul and Frances Tiafoe. Two-time Stuttgart champion Matteo Berrettini and Australia’s Nick Kyrgios are also set to compete, alongside German veteran Jan-Lennard Struff and rising prospect Justin Engel.

Tournament director Edwin Weindorfer welcomed Zverev’s return, emphasizing the significance of his participation: “We are very pleased that Alexander Zverev will play the BOSS OPEN again this year. His presence further elevates the tournament. The response from the Stuttgart crowd last year was fantastic, and the current entry list once again promises world-class tennis and spectacular matches.”
