The city of Piracicaba, Brazil is once again preparing to welcome professional tennis as the ATP Challenger Tour returns to the Clube Cristovao Colombo from June 21 to 28. The ATP Challenger 50 tournament will offer a total prize purse of $63,000 and 50 ATP Ranking points to the singles champion.

Played on clay courts, the event has become an important stop on the South American Challenger circuit, attracting established professionals and rising stars looking to climb the ATP Rankings. Admission will be free for spectators through ticket registration ahead of each day’s play.

Brazilian tennis fans will have plenty of local players to support. The main draw includes former World No. 58 Thiago Seyboth Wild, alongside fellow Brazilians Eduardo Ribeiro and Matheus Pucinelli de Almeida, both of whom have enjoyed strong performances on the international circuit in recent seasons.

The international field features several notable South American competitors, including Argentinians Guido Ivan Justo, Juan Bautista Torres, Juan Manuel La Serna, Facundo Mena, Nicolas Kicker and Andrea Collarini, as well as Bolivia’s Murkel Dellien and Peru’s Juan Pablo Varillas.

Among the most anticipated names is Collarini, who captured the inaugural Piracicaba title in 2023. One of the most consistent performers on the Challenger Tour over the past decade, the Argentine returns seeking another deep run at a venue where he has already enjoyed success.

The tournament has also proven to be a valuable springboard for players aiming to break into the ATP elite. The most recent example is Roman Andres Burruchaga, who won the 2025 edition before embarking on a breakthrough season that carried him into the Top 100. Now ranked World No. 63, Burruchaga’s rise highlights the importance of Challenger-level events in South America.

The qualifying tournament, scheduled for June 21 and 22, will feature a strong Brazilian contingent competing for the remaining main-draw places. Among those entered are Mateus Alves, Paulo Andre Saraiva, Bruno Fernandez, Jose Pereira, Lucas Andrade Silva, Wilson Leite and Nicolas Zanellato.
