Laver Cup Media Release, June 17, 2026
The announcement marks a major milestone for the Laver Cup, which over the past decade has grown from its debut in Prague in 2017 into one of the most highly anticipated events on the annual tennis calendar, bringing together the game’s leading players as rivals become teammates in an intense three-day competition between Team Europe and Team World.
The 2027 edition will follow the Laver Cup’s return to London this year, when the event will be staged at The O2 from September 25-27. London was the setting for one of the most memorable moments in tennis history in 2022, when Roger Federer brought his legendary career to a close at the Laver Cup alongside his great rival Rafael Nadal and fellow “Big Four” members Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
Los Angeles will then provide a fitting stage for the next chapter of the Laver Cup, as the city prepares to host a remarkable run of major global sporting events over the next few years, including the FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXI and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Roger Federer’s vision was to create an event that honored Rod Laver and celebrated the very best of our sport,” said Laver Cup Chairman and TEAM8 CEO Tony Godsick.
“From the beginning, we set out to build a team competition unlike anything else in tennis, bringing the world’s best players together as teammates. As we prepare for the 10th edition of the Laver Cup, it’s incredibly rewarding to see how that vision has been embraced by fans, players and partners around the world.”
Intuit Dome, home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, is one of the world’s newest and most innovative sports and entertainment venues. Since opening in 2024, the venue has set a new standard for fan experience, integrating cutting-edge technology, premium hospitality, and fan-centric design. Intuit Dome has quickly established itself as a destination for major global sporting events, most recently hosting the 2026 NBA All-Star Game and the future home of basketball during the 2028 Olympic Games, making it the perfect fit for the Laver Cup.
“Los Angeles is one of the world’s leading destinations for major sporting events and live entertainment,” said Laver Cup CEO Steve Zacks.
“Intuit Dome has redefined the fan experience and set a new benchmark for live sport. We can think of no better city and venue to host the 10th edition of the Laver Cup.”
Named in honor of Australian tennis legend Rod Laver, the Laver Cup pits six of the best men’s players from Europe against six of their counterparts from the rest of the World. Played over three days on a dramatic black court, the event is an official part of the ATP Tour calendar. Since its debut in Prague in 2017, the Laver Cup has been staged in Chicago (2018), Geneva (2019), Boston (2021), London (2022), Vancouver (2023) and Berlin (2024), with London set to host the ninth edition this year before the event moves to Los Angeles in 2027.
“Los Angeles is in the middle of an extraordinary decade of hosting global sporting events and welcoming the Laver Cup adds another world-class event to that momentum,” said Kathryn Schloessman, President & CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission.
“Its arrival in 2027, between the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, reinforces Los Angeles’ position as one of the world’s leading destinations for major international events and we’re looking forward to welcoming players, fans and visitors from around the world for this unique tennis competition.”
“The Laver Cup has quickly become one of the premier events on the tennis calendar, bringing together the best players in the world and creating an atmosphere unlike anything else in the sport,” said Gillian Zucker, CEO of Halo Sports and Entertainment.
“We are honored to welcome the Laver Cup to Intuit Dome in 2027 and to host fans from around the world for a week that celebrates competition and the global appeal of the sport. We look forward to showcasing our city, our building, and delivering an unforgettable experience for players, fans, and partners alike.”
Ticket information for Laver Cup 2027 will be released later this year.
