When the Mubadala DC Open begins at the end of this month, the ATP/WTA combined 500-series event not only will feature plenty of star power in the singles draws, it will also showcase many of the best teams in men’s and women’s doubles, too. Some, like Frances Tiafoe and Nick Kyrgios, have definite prime-time appeal.
On Friday, officials released the ATP and WTA doubles entry fields for the tournament, which takes place at H.G. FitzGerald Tennis Center in Rock Creek Park, Washington, D.C., from July 25 to August 2.

Among the many highlights:
• Frances Tiafoe of the United States and Nick Kyrgios of Australia have received a men’s doubles wildcard card. Tiafoe, a Maryland native, will team up with the former DC Open singles and doubles champion Kyrgios in one of the tournament’s most anticipated
• Fourteen-time Grand Slam doubles champion Venus Williams of the United States and rising star Alexandra Eala of the Philippines have received a women’s doubles wildcard card card.
• American Ben Shelton will team up with fellow University of Florida alum and doubles specialist Diego Hidalgo of Ecuador after the pair received a men’s doubles wild card.
• Defending DC Open champions Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori of Italy return to Washington as the top-seeded men’s doubles team.
• Reigning Australian Open men’s doubles champions Christian Harrison of the United States and Great Britain’s Neal Skupski are entered in the field.
• Fresh off reaching the 2026 Wimbledon men’s doubles final, Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador will compete in Washington. Arevalo also captured the Wimbledon mixed doubles title this year. He is paired will fellow former doubles World No. 1 Marcelo Melo of Brazil.
• Reigning Olympic doubles gold medalist and six-time Grand Slam doubles champion Sara Errani of Italy is partnering with American doubles specialist Nicole Melichar-Martinez. They are the top seeds in the WTA field and received teamed up to reach the finals in Berlin.
• The women’s doubles field also includes former DC Open doubles champion Erin Routliffe of New Zealand (2022) and defending champion Zhang Shuai of China (2025).
