Titouan Droguet captured the Cassis Open Provence by Cabesto title on Sunday, defeating fourth seed Mark Lajal 6-4, 7-6(3) in the final to claim his first title of the 2026 season.
The victory is another important milestone in the 25-year-old Frenchman’s career. Droguet rises to a career-high No. 89 in the live ATP Rankings, securing his first appearance inside the world’s Top 100.
The top seed of the ATP Challenger 75 event arrived in Cassis ranked just outside the Top 100 and had never previously faced Lajal. On home soil, Droguet produced a composed performance on the hard courts, taking the opening set 6-4 after a single break of serve. The second set remained on serve throughout before Droguet prevailed 7-3 in the tiebreak to complete the victory in just under two hours.

The title in Cassis is worth €15,510 and 75 ATP Ranking points, while Lajal takes home €8,760 and 44 points.
Droguet overcomes tough tests
Droguet needed to fight through several challenging encounters on his way to the final. He opened his campaign with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Gijs Brouwer in the round of 16 before facing fifth seed Daniil Glinka in the quarterfinals.
After dropping the opening set 6-4, Droguet responded strongly to defeat Glinka 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. The result was particularly significant given that Glinka had been the runner-up in Cassis the previous year.
The semi-final against third seed Nicolai Budkov Kjaer proved to be Droguet’s tightest match of the week. The Frenchman lost the opening-set tiebreak 7-4 but recovered impressively, winning the second set 6-2 before closing out the match 6-4 in the decider.
Steady rise for Droguet
Droguet’s breakthrough in Cassis is the latest step in a steady rise rather than a sudden surge. Born in Villeneuve-Saint-Georges in June 2001, he turned professional in 2018 and reached his first Challenger final in Cherbourg in early 2023, where he lost to Giulio Zeppieri.
The 2026 season has been Droguet’s most productive at tour level. He reached the semi-finals of the ATP 250 event in Montpellier, the quarterfinals in Bucharest and Umag, and the third round at the ATP Masters 1000 in Montreal.
Cassis marked his second Challenger final of the season and came only a week after he had failed to qualify for the US Open. He has now turned that disappointment into a significant breakthrough on home soil.
