STARNBERG, October 21, 2026
Thiago Seyboth Wild will arrive at the Costa do Sauipe Open full of confidence following another impressive achievement. The Brazilian captured the Challenger 75 title in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, on Sunday, moving up to become the second-highest-ranked Brazilian player in the ATP rankings, behind only Joao Fonseca. The 26-year-old from Parana is among the confirmed participants for the second edition of the ATP Challenger 125, which will take place in Bahia from November 1 to 8. As Brazil’s second-biggest men’s tennis tournament, the Costa do Sauipe Open offers a total prize money of US$225,000 and 125 ATP Ranking points to the champion.
In Sunday’s final in Bolivia, Wild defeated home favourite Hugo Dellien 6-4, 6-3 to secure his fourth Challenger title of the season and ninth overall at this level. The ranking points earned from his successful campaign propelled him to No. 111 in the world, bringing him closer to a return to the Top 100.
The 2026 season has been characterised by a remarkable run of consistent results. Before his latest triumph, Wild had already claimed Challenger titles in Piracicaba, Brazil, Genoa, Italy, and Zug, Switzerland. He also finished runner-up in Antofagasta, Chile, the week before his Bolivian victory, losing to fellow Brazilian João Lucas Reis in an all-Brazilian final.
Wild, who won the ATP 250 tournament in Santiago, Chile, in 2020, is now looking to approach his career-high ranking of world No. 58, achieved in May 2024. His recent string of titles and rise in the rankings make him one of the leading contenders at the Costa do Sauípe Open, the biggest Challenger tournament held in Brazil.
This will be Wild’s first appearance at the Costa do Sauipe Open. He missed the inaugural edition in 2025 but arrives this year at an important stage of his career, with the opportunity to collect valuable ranking points at a higher-category event than those he has contested in recent weeks.
The Costa do Sauipe Open 2026 will be staged from November 1 to 8 at the Costa do Sauipe Resorts complex in Bahia. The tournament will feature a strong international line-up, including several players from the Top 100. Defending champion and world No. 62 Roman Andres Burruchaga of Argentina will return, alongside compatriots Facundo Diaz Acosta (No. 69) and Camilo Ugo Carabelli (No. 77).
Portugal’s Henrique Rocha, Argentina’s Francisco Comesana and Bolivia’s Juan Carlos Prado Angelo are also among the confirmed main-draw participants.
