For the sixth consecutive year, the ITF Pro Circuit has returned to the Eislauf und Tennisverein 1911 in Karlsruhe for the $10,000 Mauk Open. The tournament’s top-three made their way into the semi-finals with first seed Yannick Hanfmann emerging victorious from the all-German-affair with Dominik Boehler 6-2, 7-6.

The world number 345, who finished runner-up at last week’s Future event in Cornaiano to Jeremy Jahn, broke his opponent’s serve four times to prevail in exactly two hours of play. Karlsruhe’s local hero Hanfmann eyes on claiming his fourth title of the season, taking on compatriot Andreas Beck in the stage of the final four. The former world number 33 eased past Johannes Haerteis. Beck sent down four aces and didn’t lose his serve, capitalizing on two of his break point opportunities. The third seed from Weingarten won 6-1, 6-1 in only 66 minutes.

Second favourite Marc Giner will take on Roberto Cid Subervi in the second semi-final. The Spaniard ousted Sebastian Fanselow, winning 6-4, 7-6 in one hour and 52 minutes. The 22-year-old from the Dominican Republic benefited from the retirement of Bastian Wagner due to injury, leading 6-3, 3-0.

In Saturday’s doubles final top-seeded German pair of Johannes Haerteis and Hannes Wagner will face Roberto Cid Suvervi and Naoki Nakagawa for the title.
