Jan Satral is the champion of the €42,500 BFD Energy Challenger, held at the Due Ponti Sporting Club in Rome. The 26-year-old from the Czech Republic upset top seed Robin Haase 6-3, 6-2 in Sunday’s final.

Satral sent down four aces, winning 74 per cent of his first service points. The world number 169 saved all of the seven break points he faced, converting three of his own to secure victory in one hour and 15 minutes.

Satral claimed his second ATP Challenger career title, following his triumph at the Marburg Open in July this season. He earns €6,150 in prize money as well as 90 ATP ranking points.
