Alexander Vasilenko clinched the title at the second edition of the $15,000 Kamen Open held on clay at the local club VfL Tennis 1929 e.V. The 22-year-old from Russia beat in Sunday’s final last year’s runner-up and tournament’s number four Antoine Hoang from France 6-3, 6-3.
Vasilenko broke serve four times, winning 16 points more than his opponent to secure victory in one hour and 39 minutes. The World No. 540, who knocked out second seed Vladimir Ivanov of Estonia in the opening round, clinched his fourth ITF Futures career title, his first since 2015. Vasilenko earns $1,944 in prize money as well as 12 ATP ranking points.
On Saturday, the all-German-combination of Peter Torebko and George von Massow defeated Nik Razborsek and Tom Kocevar-Desman of Slovenia 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 to clinch the doubles title. The encounter lasted one hour and 18 minutes.
