Following his triumph at the Neckarcup in Heilbronn, Filip Krajinovic captured his second ATP Challenger title of the season, winning Saturday’s final of the €43,000 Marburg Open against Cedrik-Marcel Stebe from Germany 6-2, 6-3.

In the pair’s first meeting, the 25-year-old Serbian won 69 per cent of his first service points and converted all of his six break point chances to secure victory in one hour and 16 minutes. Krajinovic lifted his sixth ATP Challenger career trophy, taking away €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points.

Stebe was bidding to clinch his second consecutive title after he prevailed at the Poprad-Tatry Challenger two weeks ago, winning nine matches in a row. The 26-year-old earned €3,650 and 48 ATP ranking points.

Earlier in the day, top seeds Maximo Gonzalez from Argentina and Brazilian Fabricio Neis took their first team title, beating Rameez Junaid of Australia and South Africa Ruan Roelofse in the doubles final 6-3, 7-6. The encounter lasted one hour and 25 minutes.
