KITZBÜHEL, July 16, 2017
Wimbledon doubles finalist Oliver Marach, who finished runner-up at The Championships on Saturday, will compete at this year’s Generali Open in Kitzbühel from 29 July to 5 August 2017.
At the ATP 250 event, the 36-year-old Austrian will not play along his Wimbledon partner Mate Pavic from Croatia but will team up with his compatriot Philipp Oswald. In order to get ready for the tournament on home soil, the pair will also compete at the Swiss Open Gstaad.
Marach will return to Kitzbühel for the 10th time. 11 years ago, he finished runner-up alongside Cyril Suk to Stefan Koubek and Philipp Kohlschreiber. In 2013 he advanced to the semi-finals together with Spaniard Fernando Verdasco. The last Austrian player, who lifted the doubles trophy in Kitzbühel, was Julian Knowle. He clinched the title in 2012 alongside Frantisek Cermak from the Czech Republic.
