ÜBERLINGEN, August 26, 2017
Adrian Bodmer of Switzerland and Germany’s Louis Wessels will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the $15,000 Überlingen Open, the 12th ITF Men’s Futures tournament held on German soil this year.
Bodmer sent down eight aces, winning 86 per cent of his first service points to secure a 7-6, 7-6 victory over Matthias Haim from Austria in a match without any breaks. The semi-final encounter lasted one hour and 32 minutes.
Wesserls beat countryman and third seed Peter Torebko 6-2, 6-3. The only 18-year-old from Bielefeld didn’t lose his serve, converting four of his own eight break point opportunities to prevail in one hour and 19 minutes.
Bodmer is looking to clinch his second ITF Pro Circuit title of the season, facing the German teenager for the first time. Wessels also made it to the stage of the final four in Überlingen last year falling to Aleksandar Lazov from Bulgaria, but will appear in his maiden final on Sunday.
German combination of Rene Schulte and Peter Torebko will take on Italian Erik Crepaldi and Peter Heller of Germany in the doubles final.
