Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer headlined the action on Day 2 of the Laver Cup in Prague. The best two players in the ATP rankings put Europe 9-3 ahead over Team World on Saturday.

Nadal fought past US-American Jack Sock 6-3, 3-6, 11-9.

“Of course, playing against Jack always is a big challenge. He played aggressive, some amazing forehands. And I was there all the time,” Nadal told.

“I needed to serve a little bit better than I did. For the rest of the game, I think I was playing quite well. The serve needs to be a little bit better in this type of court, because I break him three times – that is a lot in two sets – and still lost the second set with a break. That’s the only thing that I feel that I can do much better.”

Federer celebrated a 69-minute 6-4, 6-2 win over US-American Sam Querrey.

Later in the evening, both players returned to Center Court in order to team up for a highly awaited doubles match taking on Sam Querrey and Jack Sock. Federer and Nadal emerged victorious 6-4, 1-6, 10-5.

Nick Kyrgios beat Tomas Berdych 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 to gain two points for Team World.
