Top seed Grigor Dimitrov and fourth favourite Juan Martin del Potro will clash in Sunday’s final of the Intrum Stockholm Open.
Dimitrov edged past Fabio Fognini of Italy 6-3, 7-6. The World No. 8 from Bulgaria converted three of his five break point chances to advance in one hour and 27 minutes.

“It’s another final. That’s all I can ask for,” said Dimitrov, who clinched three trophies this season in Brisbane, Sofia and Cincinnati. “It’s very tricky playing against Fabio. After such a good first set from me, he took the lead in the second, so I had to uplift myself a little bit, trying to stay as positive as I can, and it was a great tie-break as well.”
Del Potro Overcomes Verdasco
Stockholm Open defending champion Del Potro rallied from a set down to overcome Spanish veteran Fernando Verdasco 6-7, 6-4, 7-6. The 29-year-old from Argentina sent down five aces, winning 71 per cent of his first service points to prevail after two hours and 42 minutes.
