Argentine Marco Trungelliti and Germain Gigounon of Belgium will compete in Sunday’s singles final at the second edition of the BBVA Future Vila de Xàbia held at the Ferrer Tennis Academy in Jávea.
Trungelliti defeated the tournament’s No. 7 Kimmer Coppejans from Belgium 6-3, 6-1. The 28-year-old from Santiago del Estero capitalized on six of his eight break point chances to advance in one hour and 30 minutes. Trungelliti could lift his eighth ITF Pro Circuit trophy, his first since 2014 and his first on European soil.
He will face Germain Gigounon, who fought past No. 6 seed Sergio Gutierrez-Ferrol of Spain 7-6, 7-5. The 28-year-old Lobbes native won six points more than his opponent to prevail after two hours and 13 minutes. Gigounon wants to clinch his 14th Futures career title, his first since 2016. The pair will meet for the first time.

On Friday afternoon, Germain Gigounon and Spanish young gun Pedro Martínez Portero teamed up to capture the doubles title with a 7-6, 7-6 win over top seeds Kimmer Coppejans and Ivan Gakhov from Russia. The final lasted one hour and 52 minutes.
