Stefanos Tsitsipas continues his magical run at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell. The 19-year-old from Greece edged out No. 5 seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 7-5, 6-3 on Saturday afternoon to reach his first final on the ATP World Tour.

Tsitsipas, who knoked out Albert Ramos Vinolas and Dominic Thiem this week, sent down five aces, winning 78 per cent of his first service points to prevail after one hour and 35 minutes.

“I couldn’t have enjoyed it more, I went onto the court and enjoyed every single moment. I am very proud of myself and also I believe I made my country proud,” told Tsitispas, who became the first Greek to reach an ATP World Tour title match since Nicholas Kalogeropoulos in 1973.

The #NextGenATP star will challenge Rafael Nadal on Sunday. The World No. 1 eased past David Goffin 6-4, 6-0 eyeing his 11th Barcelona crown. Nadal dominated the encounter, clinching 63 per cent of the total points played to extend his clay-court winning streak to 18 after one hour and 22 minutes.

“Tomorrow’s match against a young player will be tough,” said Nadal, who earned his 400th match win on clay. “He comes from playing really good matches, he hasn’t lost a set this week and he had won tough matches against very good opponents. I played well today and will try to continue to do so.”

The pair will meet for the first time.
