KITZBÜHEL, July 28, 2018
The main draw for the 74th edition of the Generali Open has been made on Saturday. Top seed Dominic Thiem will start his home campaign on Wednesday after a first-round bye against either Austrian wild card entry Sebastian Ofner or a qualifier.
The World No. 8 will also compete in doubles teaming up with his compatriot and friend Dennis Novak. Thiem, who lost in the quarterfinals of the German Open Tennis Championships in Hamburg, will fly to Kitzbühel on Saturday evening. Their doubles match will be played on Tuesday.
“We are very happy that Dominic will also play doubles here. That’s great for the fans,” tournament director Alexander Antonitsch is pleased.

Kitzbühel resident and second favourite Philipp Kohlschreiber could start his title bid against Federico Delbonis. The World No. 82 from Argentina will face a qualifier in the opening round.
The winner of the encounter between Spaniard Roberto Carballés-Baena and Hamburg semi-finalist Nicolás Jarry will face No. 3 seed Fernando Verdasco of Spain, who had arrived in Austria pretty early to spend some time on the practice courts. Two-time Kitzbühel champion Robin Haase awaits the winner of the match between #NextGenATP star Jaume Munar and a qualifier.
