19-year-old Corentin Moutet clinched the title of the American Express Istanbul Challenger. The No. 2 seed emerged victorious from an all-French singles final of the $75,000 ATP Challenger hard-court event on Sunday. Moutet beat Quentin Halys 6-3, 6-4.
The teenager capitalized on six of his 12 break point opportunities to finish the encounter in one hour and 21 minutes. By adding the Istanbul crown to his first ATP Challenger title on home soil in Brest last year, Moutet earns $10,800 in prize money as well as 90 ATP-Ranking points.
On Saturday, Rameez Junaid of Australia and Purav Raja of India took the doubles title. The top seeded duo beat Timur Khabibulin from Kazahkstan and Vladyslav Manafov from the Ukraine 7-6(4), 4-6, 10-7 in one hour and 45 minutes.
