Relaunch in Hamburg. The former German Open Tennis Championships will now be called Hamburg Open. The tournament is played on clay courts at the tennis center Am Rothenbaum, which features a retractable roof stadium seating 13,200 spectators is situated in a wealthy district by the same name. It was established in 1892.

Owned by the German Tennis Federation (DTB) the ATP 500 event will be organized for the first time next year by the Reichel Business Group. The Hamburg Open will be held from 20 to 28 July 2019.
