MARBELLA, March 30, 2019
The top two seeds will go head-to-head in Sunday’s singles final of the €46,600 Casino Admiral Trophy, as Benoit Paire will take on Pablo Andújar for the title at the Puente Romano Tenis Club in Marbella.
Paire rallied past Spanish No. 10 seed Pedro Martínez 6-7(7), 6-3, 6-2. The World No. 67 from France sent down eight aces, winning 68 per cent of his first service points to secure victory in two hours and 11 minutes.
Earlier in the day, Andújar emerged victorious from the all-Spanish encounter with teenager Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, winning 6-2, 5-7, 6-3. The No. 2 seed from Cuenca capitalized on six of his 16 break point chances to prevail after two hours and 22 minutes.
“Davidovich played very bravely but I was sure that my chance would come. I hope that the spectators will support me to win the title tomorrow,” said Andújar.
Paire and Andújar are both seeking their first title of the season. The Frenchman won all previous three meetings with the World No. 88. Their last meeting took place in Barcelona six years ago.

Later in the evening, Kevin Krawietz and Andreas Mies took the doubles title. The top seeds from Germany fought past Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen of Belgium 7-6(6), 2-6, 10-6. Krawietz and Mies finished the encounter after one hour and 33 minutes. It was the Germans’ second title of the season following their maiden triumph on the ATP Tour at the New York Open.
