After lifting five trophies on the ATP Tour, Lucas Pouille claimed his first ATP Challenger title at the 2019 BNP Paribas Primrose in Bordeaux. The World No. 32 from France, who entered the tournament with a total prize money of €114,800 with a wild card, defeated Swedish young gun Mikael Ymer 6-3, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final.
Top seed Pouille defeated Pedro Cachín from Argentina, Spanish veteran Tommy Robredo as well as compatriots Quentin Halys and Gregoire Barrere en route to the title match. The 25-year-old Grand-Synthe native was in control in his first meeting with Ymer. Pouille didn’t face a break point, capitalizing on three of his own six chances to prevail after one hour and five minutes.

Pouille collects €15,720 in prize money as well as 110 ATP-Ranking points. He appeared in his third Challenger final, finishing runner-up to Kimmer Coppejans in Meknes 2014 and to Benoit Paire in Mouilleron-Le-Captif one year later.
Earlier in the day, Gregoire Barrere and Quentin Halys took the doubles crown. The unseeded all-French combination defeated Romain Arneodo and Hugo Nys of Monaco 6-4, 6-1. The encounter lasted 62 minutes.
