Later in the day, Matt Reid and John-Patrick Smith clinched the doubles title. The No. 3 seeded Australians beat Gonzalo Escobar from Ecuador and Luis David Martinez of Venezuela 7-6(10), 6-3. The encounter lasted one hour and 20 minutes.

In 2018, the Puerto Vallarta Open made a dazzling debut under the glistening sun of the Mexican beach resort city, situated on the Pacific Ocean’s Bahía de Banderas. It earned Tournament of the Year honours in its inaugural edition. Nestled between the blue waters of the Pacific and the towering Sierra Madre mountains, the natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for an ATP Challenger Tour event.
