Alba Carrillo Marin of Spain captured her first title of the season. The No. 7 seed of the ITF World Tennis Tour W15 event is the champion of the 15th edition of the Montemor Ladies Open held on hard courts at the Clube de Ténis de Montemor-O-Novo.

Carrillo Marin, who advanced to the final without dropping a set, upset the tournament’ s No. 1 Francisco Jorge 6-0, 4-6, 6-3.

“I fought hard and tried to come back but it didn’t work out in the end,” Jorge said.

“It was an incredible week. I felt welcome and Montemor is in my heart now,” Carrillo Marin was happy afterwards.

By lifting her third trophy on the ITF Pro Circuit, Carrillo Marin takes away from Portugal $2,352 in prize money as well as 100 ITF-Ranking points.
