Two Argentines will compete in the championship match of the 18th edition of the Challenger Acqua Dolomia Serena Wines Tennis Cup 1881 Internazionali Del Friuli Venezia Giulia hosted by Eurosporting in Cordenons, Italy.
Francisco Cerundolo emerged victorious from Saturday’s semi-final with his compatriot Andrea Collarini 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. The No. 3 seed of the €44,820 ATP Challenger clay-court event capitalized on four of his nine break-point chances to advance after two hours and 19 minutes.
Later in the evening and under the lights on Center Court Dolomia Serena, Tomas Martin Etcheverry fought past Marc-Andrea Huesler from Switzerland 6-3, 1-6, 6-3. The 22-year-old La Plata native sent down three aces and won 78 per cent of his first-service points to seal victory in two hours and 12 minutes.

World No. 119 Cerundolo is seeking his fourth ATP Challenger career title, his first of the season. 148th-ranked Etcheverry could lift his third trophy. He was successful at two Italian tournaments in Perugia and Trieste earlier this year. Cerundolo leads the head-to-head record between the two South Americans 3-2.
Brazilians triumph in doubles
Earlier in the day, Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos took the doubles title. The top seeds from Brazil defeated Sergio Galdos of Peru and Argentine Renzo Olivo 6-4, 7-6(5). The encounter lasted one hour and 49 minutes.
By winning their third team title of the season, following their triumphs at the Dove Men & Care Challenger Concepcion in Chile and the Tallahassee Tennis Challenger in the United States, Luz and Matos split €3,650 in prize money and earned 80 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
