#NextGenATP US-American Brandon Nakashima won the title of the Open Brest – Crédit Agricole, claiming his second ATP Challenger Tour trophy of the year. The No. 4 seed of the €66,640 hard-court event defeated Joao Sousa from Portugal 6-3, 6-3 in Sunday’s singles final.
In front of about 3,000 spectators inside the Brest Arena, Nakashima sent down seven aces, didn’t face a break point and converted three of his own 11 break-point opportunities to seal victory in one hour and 19 minutes.

The World No. 70 advanced to the championship match without dropping a set, beating Hungarian qualifier Zsombor Piros, Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles, No. 7 seed Henri Laaksonen from Switzerland and Frenchman Alexandre Muller.
At the age of 20, Nakashima has become the youngest US-American to lift multiple trophies in a season since a 19-year-old Frances Tiafoe in 2017. In February, the Californian was also successful on French soil at the Open Quimper.
Nakashima pocketed €9,200 in prize money as well as 90 ATP Ranking points.
Frenchmen prevail in doubles
On Saturday, Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul delighted their home crowd by taking the doubles title. The No. 4 seeds fought past the all-Italian duo of Salvatore Caruso and Federico Gaio 4-6, 6-3, 10-3. The encounter lasted one hour and 31 minutes.
Doumbia and Reboul split €3,950 in prize money and earned 90 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
