M25 Campos do Jordao BRA – Mateus Alves wins another trophy on hard court 

The IPG Open, held at Campos do Jordao Tenis Clube, concluded with the title win of local hero Mateus Alves.

The No. 4 seed cruised past his No. 2 seeded fellow Brazilian Gustavo Heide in the stage of the final four in two sets.

Top seed Nicolas Alvarez from Peru took the last step to the final with a straight-set win against Fernando Yamacita from Brazil. 

Twenty-one-year-old Alves sent down seven aces and won 86 per cent of his first-service points in the championship match to succeed 6-1, 6-4 in 75 minutes. The San Jose do Rio Preto native celebrated his third singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, all of them won on hard court.

M25 Sharm El Sheikh EGY – Hady Habib prevails in Egypt

Unseeded Hady Habib was crowned champion at the M15 Sharm El Sheikh tournament, hosted by Soho Square.

The college player for the Texas A&M University booked the spot in the final with a three-set win versus Marek Gengel from the Czech Republic.

Former World No. 26 and tournament’s top seed Lukas Rosol from the Czech Republic eased past Beibit Zhukayev in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Houston-born Habib, who has represented Lebanon since 2018, struck 11 aces in the title match and gained two breaks more to secure a 6-4, 6-4 victory in 78 minutes. The 23-year-old celebrated his fifth career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Villena ESP – Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo triumphs on home soil 

Nilolas Sanchez Izquierdo is the champion of the III ITF Men’s Villena, held at the JCFerrero Equelite Sport Academy.

The 22-year-old Spaniard edged out German No. 4 seed Johannes Haerteis in the semi-finals in three sets.

Alejandro Moro Canas emerged victorious from the all-Spanish semifinal-clash versus John Echeverria in straight sets.

Top seed Sanchez Izquierdo converted all of his three break-point opportunities and lost two service games in the championship match to prevail 7-6, 6-3 after one hour and 47 minutes. Following five title wins on clay, the Barcelona native clinched his sixth singles trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Antalya TUR – Evgenii Tiurnev crowns great run 

Evgenii Tiurnev took the title of the Antalya Series, hosted by Club Megasaray in Belek.

The 24-year-old Russian, who entered the tournament in the qualifying competition by a wild card, fought past Korean No. 6 seed Seong Chan Hong in the semi-finals in three sets 

Romanian No. 7 seed Cezar Cretu knocked off the tournament’s top favourite Miljan Zekic from Serbia in the stage of the last four in straight sets. 

Gatchina-born Tiurnev fired 16 aces and won 77 per cent of his first-service points in the title match to seal a 7-6, 6-7, 7-5 victory in about three hours of play. The current World No. 276 lifted his 16th career trophy on the Pro Circuit including two ATP Challenger titles in Antalya and St. Petersburg last season. 

M15 Cancun MEX – Californian Brandon Holt captures third consecutive title 

Following his back-to-back triumphs at the same place over the last two weeks, Brandon Holt clinched another trophy of the World Tennis Tour Cancun 2022, held at Cancun Tennis Complex. 

The former college player for the University of Southern California made the last step to the final by defeating Terence Atmane from France in two sets. 

Wild card entry Emil Reinberg set the all-US-American final with a straight-set victory against Luis Patino from Mexico.

Rolling Hill-born Holt converted five of his nine break-point chances in the championship match and dropped only one service game to prevail 7-5, 6-0 after two hours and 11 minutes. The 23-year-old celebrated his fifth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M15 Monastir TUN – Laurent Lokoli returns to winners’ circle 

Laurent Lokoli emerged victorious at the Magic Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The French No. 4 seed stopped the run of Italian qualifier Federico Iannaccone in the stage of the final four in two sets.

Alexander Donski from Bulgaria advanced to the final with a straight-set win against the tournament’s top seed Luca Catarina from Monaco. 

Twenty-seven-year-old Lokoli won 76 per cent of his first-service points in the title match and sent down six aces to claim a 6-0, 3-6, 7-5 victory after two hours and 21 minutes. The Bastia native lifted his 10th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour, his first since 2019.
