M15 Sunrise USA – Veteran Sekou Bangoura dominates in Florida

Local hero Sekou Bangoura clinched the trophy of the City of Sunrise Pro Tennis Classic, held at Sunrise Tennis Club, without losing a set the entire week.

The 30-year-old US-American battled past his countryman and qualifier Kyle Kang in the semi-finals in two sets.

No. 2 seed Evan Zhu set the all-US-American final with a straight-set win against No. 3 seeded Brazilian Jose Pereira.

Bradenton-born Bangoura converted four of his seven break-point chances in the title match and dropped one service game to succeed 6-4, 6-2 in 79 minutes. The former World No. 213 celebrated his ninth singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour. 

M25 Nottingham GBR – Hiroki Moriya returns to winners’ circle 

The M25 Nottingham tournament, hosted by Nottingham Tennis Centre, concluded with the title win of veteran Hiroki Moriya.

The 31-year-old Japanese edged out British No. 5 seed Billy Harris in the stage of the last four in three sets.

The tournament’s top seed Antoine Escoffier from France made the last step to the final with a straight-set win versus Belgian No. 3 seed Ruben Bemelmans.

No. 2 seed Moriya withstood seven aces from his 30-year-old rival in the championship match and gained four breaks more to secure a 3-6, 6-0, 6-2 victory after one hour and 49 minutes. The Tokyo native lifted his 10th career trophy on the Pro Circuit including three titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. It has been the first title win for the former World No. 143 since 2018.

M25 Santa Margherita di Pula ITA – Laurent Lokoli captures third trophy of the season

Laurent Lokoli was victorious at the Fortevillage ITF Trophy, which was held at ASD Fortevillage in Sardinia.

The French top seed eased past Jack Pinnington Jones from Great Britain in the semi-finals in three sets.

British No. 8 seed Felix Gill booked the spot in the final with a straight-set win versus Francesco Maestrelli from Italy.

Bastia-born Lokoli broke his 19-year-old opponent in the title match five times and lost three service games to triumph 7-5, 6-3 after about two hours of play. The 27-year-old Corsican, who was already ranked World No. 207, celebrated his 12th career title on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Cairo EGY – Valerio Aboian wins debut title 

Valerio Aboian took the title of the Egypt Men’s Future, hosted by the venue of Al-Solaimaneyah Sporting Club in Alexandria.

The Argentine took the last step to the final by beating teenager Vilius Gaubas from Lithuania in two sets.

The tournament’s top favourite Cezar Cretu from Romania finished the run of Argentinian qualifier Lorenzo Joaquin Rodriguez in the semi-finals in straight sets.

Left-handed Aboian earned one break and nine points more in the championship match to seal a 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 comeback win after two hours and 37 minutes. The 19-year-old lifted his first singles trophy on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Chiang Rai THA – Seong-Chan Hong succeeds in Thailand

The ITF Men’s Asia/Oceania #1, hosted by the venue of Chiang Rai Sports Center, concluded with the title win of 24-year-old Seong Chan Hong from the Korean Republic. 

The Gangwonto-born cruised past his No. 2 seeded fellow Korean Jisung Nam in the semi-finals in two sets.

Nam Hoang Li, the No. 3 seed from Vietnam, advanced to the final with a straight-set win versus Ajeet Rai from Australia.

No. 7 seed Hong made one point less in the championship match but secured a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory in two hours and 35 minutes. The former juniors World No. 2, who captured the title of the ITF Junior Masters in Chengdu 2016, lifted his 13th career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour.

M15 Antalya TUR – Mathys Erhard clinches maiden trophy

Mathys Erhard was crowned champion of the Antalya Series, held at Club Megasaray in Belek. 

The Frenchman cruised past Turkish No. 4 seed Yanki Erel in the semi-finals in two clear sets. 

Moldovan qualifier Ilya Snitari continued his great run of form this week by beating Ukrainian No. 5 seed Oleg Prihodko in the stage of the last four in three sets. 

Twenty-year-old Erhard capitalized on six of his seven break-point opportunities in the title match by dropping two service-games to prevail 6-4, 6-1 in 89 minutes. The Toulouse-born celebrated his first singles title on the Pro Circuit.

M15 Monastir TUN – Matia Bellucci captures third title of the season

Left-handed Mattia Bellucci emerged victorious at the Magic Hotel Tours tournament, hosted by Hotel Skanes Family in Monastir.

The 20-year-old Italian stopped the run of US-American qualifier Kalman L Boyd in the stage of the final four in straight sets.

Austrian No. 4 seed Maximilian Neuchrist fought past Chinese qualifier Bu Yunchaokete, who was ranked ITF No. 5 as a junior, in the semi-finals in three sets. 

Top seed Bellucci broke his 30-year-old rival in the championship match one time without facing a break point to claim a 7-6, 6-3 win after one hour and 46 minutes. The Busto Arsizio native lifted his fourth career trophy on the ITF World Tennis Tour and his third this season.
