The grass-court swing in Germany continues next week with the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, Westphalia. Four qualifiers completed the 32-man singles main draw of the ATP Tour 500 event on Sunday.
Marc-Andrea Huesler of Switzerland defeated Christopher O’Connell from Australia 6-4, 6-4 and will take on US-American Mackenzie McDonald in the first round. Radu Albot of Moldova rallied past Swiss wild card entry Dominic Stricker 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 and will play Frenchman Ugo Humbert in the main draw.
Qualifying top seed Tallon Griekspoor from the Netherlands beat Peter Gojowczyk of Germany 6-2, 6-3 and will face Slovakia’s Alex Molcan next. Big-serving US-American Maxime Cressy battled past home favourite Yannick Hanfmann 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to set a first-round clash with World No. 13 and fifth seed Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.

The field is led by next week’s World No. 1 Daniil Medvedev, who finished runner-up to Tim van Rijthoven at the Libema Open in Den Bosch this weekend. The 26-year-old Russian will open his title bid against David Goffin of Belgium.
Stefanos Tsitsipas is the highest-ranked player in the bottom half of the draw as the second seed. The World No. 5 from Greece will start his Halle campaign against Benjamin Bonzi of France. Andrey Rublev from Russia and Canadian young gun Felix Auger-Aliassime round out the top four seeds.
