“I started pretty well, went for my shots but I didn’t feel so comfortable in the second set. But I am happy with the fight and being through to the quarterfinals,” said Munar. “Yesterday, I had a chance to visit the city. I enjoyed it. Everything at the tournament is fantastic.”
Next up for Munar will be fifth favourite Matteo Arnaldi, who fought past German wild card entry Marko Topo 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. The World No. 106 from Italy, winner of two ATP Challenger crowns this season, capitalized on four of his six break-point chances to prevail after one hour and 46 minutes.
The favourite is through to the QF!
