Domingues, the more experienced of the two finalists, had not dropped a set until the final, while Rocha started his campaign with a comeback from 1-4 in the deciding set to defeat the top seed Goncalo Oliveira, who is now representing Venezuela.
Nine years after his first final appearance at the Eupago Porto Open, then on clay, Domingues finally claimed the coveted trophy, joining Leonardo Tavares (2007), Frederico Gil (2014), Joao Monteiro (2017), and Gastao Elias (2020) in the gallery of Portuguese champions.
The victory at the Eupago Porto Open will boost World No. 722 Domingues up more than 100 places in the ATP Rankings. Both finalists will turn their attention to the upcoming Eupago Porto Open ATP Challenger 125, also held at the Monte Aventino Sports Complex.
