The four Federal Training Bases (Bundesstützpunkte) of the German Tennis Federation (DTB)—Hannover, Kamen, Stuttgart, and Oberhaching—have been officially recognized by the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) and the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) for an additional four years, extending their status until at least 2028. These bases remain key pillars in supporting young tennis talent across the country.
“This renewed recognition underscores the collaboration between DTB, regional associations, and coaches. It provides crucial planning security for the coming years,” stated DTB Executive Board member Veronika Rücker. She highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen the bases and refine their roles as part of the new elite sports framework “Together! World-Class! Develop!” set for intensified implementation in 2025.
Each base offers tailored facilities for tennis, including courts with various surfaces, advanced training analysis systems, and spaces for physical conditioning. Athletes also benefit from comprehensive support services such as medical care, physiotherapy, and sports psychology, alongside partnerships with schools and accommodations when needed.
These bases integrate seamlessly with local Olympic training bases and regional performance centers, ensuring athletes can balance rigorous practice with education, helping them reach their full potential.
