It has been a dream start to the season for Eva Lys. The 23-year-old from Hamburg made history as the first female “Lucky Loser” to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam, winning over fans in Melbourne with her spirited performances. Now, tennis enthusiasts at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix will get the chance to see her in action live: Thanks to a wildcard, Lys will compete in the main draw of the prestigious Stuttgart tournament for the second time after her debut in 2022.

“With her impressive performance at the Australian Open, Eva brought great joy to tennis fans,” said Anke Huber, the Sporting Director of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. “She is one of our most promising players and has absolutely earned this wildcard. We want to give her the opportunity to compete against the world’s best players in Stuttgart, allowing her to gain valuable experience, build confidence, and further develop her game.”

I’m really happy about the wildcard for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix,” said Lys, who broke into the Top 100 following her remarkable run in Melbourne. “The Stuttgart tournament always has a very strong field. The challenge of competing against such top players is incredibly motivating for me. A few years ago, I gained my first WTA Tour experience at this event, and now I’m even more excited to return.”
