SEGOVIA, July 22, 2016
Nicolas Almagro received a wild card into next week’s main draw of the 31st edition of the Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar. The world number 45 will probably step into action on Tuesday, July 26.
Almagro has been a member of the top 10 for several weeks between July 2011 and July 2012. He reached his career high ninth position in May 2011. He captured the ATP 250 trophy in Estoril this season and also finished runner-up in Buenos Aires. The 30-year-old from Murcia clinched 12 ATP career titles. Since 2008, he has played for Spain in the Davis Cup seven times.
He lost in the opening round to Damir Dzumhur in Umag this week and will start his hard court campaign in Segovia.
