Marc O’Polo Rosenheim has been crowned German Tennis Bundesliga team champion for the first time in the club’s history. The league leaders held their nerve in a thrilling title race that went down to the final day, securing the championship ahead of defending champions TC Bredeney.
Rosenheim entered the final round at the top of the table and successfully defended its position with a 3-3 draw at Grün-Weiss Mannheim. The result was enough to keep TC Bredeney, their closest challengers from Essen, at bay. Across the entire season, Rosenheim remained unbeaten and dropped just one further point through a 3-3 draw against the eventual runners-up.

“Congratulations to Marc O’Polo Rosenheim on this historic achievement. The team absolutely deserved this first German championship title after an exceptionally consistent season,” said DTB President Dietloff von Arnim. “Rosenheim went unbeaten throughout the season with an internationally experienced team. Given the outstanding sporting quality in the Tennis Bundesliga, this is a remarkable achievement.”
With players such as Nikoloz Basilashvili, Sebastian Ofner, Stefano Napolitano and Thiago Seyboth Wild, Rosenheim relied heavily on international experience and delivered consistently strong performances throughout the campaign.
“For our club, this is the greatest success in its history. The team showed incredible commitment throughout the season and fully deserved this title. We largely played with a similar line-up and placed great emphasis on building a well-balanced team. Our fans supported us tremendously throughout the season. To now be German champions for the first time is something very special for everyone involved,” said Rosenheim Tennis Bundesliga director Thomas Detterbeck.
World-class tennis in Germany’s top division
The Tennis Bundesliga once again lived up to its reputation as one of the strongest team leagues in the world this season. International stars including Thomas Etcheverry, Tallon Griekspoor, Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech competed alongside numerous German Davis Cup players such as Jan-Lennard Struff, Yannick Hanfmann, Daniel Altmaier, Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz.
“The season once again demonstrated the outstanding sporting level of the Tennis Bundesliga. German and international world-class players, as well as our best young talents, showcased tennis at the highest level this year and helped promote our sport through the Bundesliga,” von Arnim added.
At the other end of the standings, Augsburg and Berlin will be relegated to the second division after finishing ninth and 10th respectively.
